"It’s even stupider when you’re reading it with the pictures.
There’s a white ball and a black ball.
And they talk.
And they say things like “My yin was quite literally ripped from my yang.”

Oh dear. I got halfway through this:

"Well get this - it turns out The Source Wall blocks reality from The Bleed. It doesn’t have anything to do with The Source. And if The Bleed seeped into reality, it would further cut off The Source from The Dark Source. Meanwhile, The Dark Source evolved into The Anti-Life Entity. Its power is accessed via The Anti-Life Equation, which is currently consuming Mr. Miracle."

...and my brains exploded.

I hate you, DC Comics. Somebody get me a face / palm.

I'll sign on board with that conspiracy theory.

Will you be buying Final Crisis? I'm still slightly considering it, though leaning against it. I can't help but imagine that even if it's fairly well done, a little devil figure will materialize on my shoulder and remind me how retarded everything was that led up to it. Sort of like how it's impossible to enjoy Dan Slott's take on Spider-Man after OMD.

The irony obviously being that they had the exact same situation 30 years ago and that's why they had the first Crisis, because they had a fictional reality so confusing that they couldn't help but contradict themselves all over the place.

Are they trying to consciously manufacture that discontent and frustration so that the readers demand a new multiverse compression? Like "It's too soon for another Crisis..." "...Not if we screw everything up first, it isn't!"

I think what we're seeing with DC is that the creators and editorial staff don't have a confident understanding of their universe. Over the past however many years, DC's multiverse and continuity have become so garbled and incongruent that it's just a big muddled mess. And while they're trying gamely to bring sense to it, it's pretty clear as a reader that if you asked a DC writer or editor to define the relationships between the Source, the Dark Source, the Source Wall, the Bleed and the Multiverse that their first sentence would begin with "Uhhhh..."
